Description
This book is to give football fans and in particular Forest fans a feel of what it was like when Brian Clough took Forest to the top table of European football. Not only were Forest at the top table but it was our Captain making the speeches.
The book is not a catalog of games with scorers and results, but more the reaction of fans who took the journey with them. It is amusing to share the agony and ecstasy of fans more used to studying relegation battles for their club than trips to Wembley.
The book describes first games and experiences, through teenage years of growing up in working class Nottingham. It includes the beginning of the Trent End, 1967, away days with stirring battles against Leicester supporters and of course the Brian Clough years.
My Forest Journey was not meant to be a football book documenting game after game. It is more a chronicle of average fans supporting an average provincial team when a genius called Brian Clough arrived and turned their football lives upside down.
My Forest Journey guarantees laughs for fans who will easily relate to tensions of living with the ups and downs of the club they love.
Hope you enjoy the book as much as we enjoyed the events it covers.
